•Have a designated driver. Do not drive drunk or impaired!
•Pace yourself when drinking. Have an alcoholic beverage, eat, drink water or a non-alcoholic beverage, and socialize before consuming more alcohol
•Have the phone numbers for cabs or ride sharing services handy so that if you need a ride home from a bar, restaurant, or party you have the number handy
•Don’t let anyone drive while impaired. Take their keys, offer to drive them home, get them a cab. Just don’t let them on the roads
•Make sure you use your seat belt. It will help protect you especially if you are involved in an accident
•Stay aware when driving home. Put your cell phone down. Don’t text and drive. Be aware that others have been drinking so drive carefully
If you are hosting a Super Bowl party, here are a few tips:
•Offer plenty of food
•Only serve alcohol to those 21 and older (heavy penalties can apply if you serve alcohol to minors)
•Make sure your guests have a designated driver before drinking
•Stop serving alcohol at the end of the third quarter (just like the stadiums do). Serve dessert and coffee at this time
•Be prepared to let guests stay overnight if they are impaired. Either that or have phone numbers handy for cabs and ride-sharing services. Do not let guests drive if they are impaired
