The Orlando bail bonds team at 33rd Street Bail Bonds wants you to enjoy Bike Week 2016 and also stay safe.

Here are tips on safe driving as well as on being safe during the event:
•Watch the weather reports. Driving in the rain on a motorcycle can cause an accident. The rain causes oil residue to rise on the road and make it slippery. Be prepared to pull over and wait it out and be careful once you resume your ride
•Get your bike in tip top shape before heading out to Bike Week. Make sure that your bike is ready to go when you are. Check the tires, signals, oil, and brakes before you leave
•Stay on the main drag. Most of the activities will be located here so there will be more people. Safety in numbers
•Prevent theft. However, more people mean more opportunities for you to have things stolen either by pickpockets or thieves who steal out of your saddle bags. Take valuables with you or lock them up. Also, make sure to secure your bike so it is there when you get back
•Bring a spare key.
•Have a map or an app so you know where you are going and what you want to see. Being lost is not fun
•Wear a helmet. Protect your head from injury in the event of an accident. Riders without a helmet are 40% more likely to suffer from a brain injury or fatal accident then riders who wear a helmet
•Drive defensively and avoid distractions. Don’t answer your phone or play with your iPod while driving
•Avoid blind spots, make yourself visible to other drivers, and don’t share lanes
•Don’t drink and drive!
•Watch out for sand and debris in the road
