Don’t Let The TSA Take Your Firearm!
If you are heading to the airport for a business trip or vacation, be aware that any firearms you are carrying need to be unloaded, packed in a hard-sided container, declared to the airline at check-in, and placed in checked luggage. 33rd Street Bail Bonds wants you to be aware that if you do not follow this procedure, then you can be arrested and charged with a crime.
The Orlando International Airport ranks the highest in the state of Florida for having guns seized at TSA checkpoints. Most times, either a person has forgotten that the gun was in their carry- on luggage or they thought it was okay to have the gun in their carry-on luggage since the owner of the gun has a license to carry concealed weapons. Florida Statue 790.06 states that “a license to carry concealed weapons or concealed firearms issued by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services does not authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a concealed weapon into the inside of the passenger terminal sterile area of any airport.”
More than 90 percent of those arrested were Floridians and at least 70 percent of them hold state concealed -weapon permits. If you have a license to carry a concealed weapon, then you can be arrested and charged on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a firearm in a place prohibited by law. If you are caught with a loaded weapon and do not have a license to carry a concealed weapon, then the charges can include being charged with a felony and face fines and/or jail time.
33rd Street Bail Bonds wants you to be aware that carrying a weapon in your carry-on bag in the airport is prohibited.
