Spring break is almost here

Soon, you will be able to enjoy lazy days at the beach, nights out with your friends, and time away from the books. 33rd Street Bail Bonds wants you to have fun but be safe while on spring break.

Here are a few tips for staying safe:

•Use discretion when checking into your hotel. Only your roommates and close friends need to know your room number. Do not let others know where your room is located
•Don’t stay on the first floor
•Keep your money and credit cards safe by using the hotel safe. Only take the money you need when venturing out of your room
•Use well-lit ATMS’s to withdraw money from your account and protect your PIN number by shielding the keypad with your hand
•Use the buddy system. Stay with your friends. Do not leave with a stranger nor let your friends leave with a stranger
•Limit your alcohol use and don’t drink and drive!
•If you are participating in a sport or other activity such as bungee jumping, ziplining, or biking, make sure that you wear safety gear and double check that all safety gear is secure
•Always swim with a buddy, never alone!
•Use sunscreen or you will regret it
•Have a code word to let your friends know that you are in need of help
•Don’t post your location on social media. Sharing too much information could put you in danger
•Have safe sex
•Be aware of alcohol poisoning. Too much alcohol can kill you
•Be aware of your surroundings and stay in well-lit areas
•When at a bar, make sure you watch your drink. Always get your drink from the bartender and never leave your drink alone. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks can be tampered with
•Say no to drugs. Don’t buy them, sell them, or use them
•If you feel uncomfortable or that something is off, then trust your gut and leave
•If you need help, ask for it
