Spring Break, Don’t Spend It Behind Bars!

Keep it fun by staying out of jail!

Spring Break can get out of hand if people don’t stay responsible. Parties, evening gatherings, groups on the beaches, at a theme park and even in a restaurant can quickly turn into something that lands people in jail.

College students on spring break are often ones we bail out of jail. Students from Rollins, UCF, Stetson, Valencia and Seminole State College typically call us during their spring break to be bailed from jail. 33rd Street Bail Bonds Agency is here to help. We can bail you out of jail, but the consequences can last a life time. Not all crimes are created equal and not all crimes can be expunged or sealed from your record. Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault, Robbery and illegal use of explosives are just a few examples of charges that cannot be expunged. No Spring Break fun is worth a life-time record.

If you will be drinking on your Spring Break, be sure to assign a designated driver or call an Uber. This will prevent you from getting a DUI but will also keep you alive as well as others. Drinking until intoxicated has many other implications. You are more easily a target to be a victim of sexual assault, you can become violent and be charged with assault yourself. It is important to know that you could be putting yourself at risk even though you feel like the fun you are having is innocent.

In recent years, we have seen on the news how what seemed like fun Spring Break shenanigans have resulted in students getting kicked out of colleges, fraternities and tarnished their records for many years. Having these things on your record can affect your job search, scholarship money and internship opportunities and possibly participating in sports or clubs on campus.

Crime rates increase during Spring Break in Florida. Drug charges, rape cases, sexual assault, and other violent crimes increase. Don’t become a victim! Remember to always travel in groups of 2 or 3 at night (especially women). Always be aware of your surroundings as you head to your car in a parking lot or head to your hotel room from your car. Don’t drink from any drink that has been left unattended and always let a friend know where you will be.
